<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Tapping points</strong></h2>



<p>The tapping points are located on your body’s meridians: symmetrical pairs of energy pathways from traditional Chinese medicine. It’s the same concept as acupressure or acupuncture points, except instead of needles or pressure, we just tap with our fingers to stimulate them. There are thousands of pressure points on the meridians of the body, but these are the 9 we focus on when using EFT tapping:</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Side of Hand (Karate Chop)</h3>



<p>Releases feelings of being stuck. Helps you move forward and let go. It&#8217;s associated with the small intestine.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Eyebrow</h3>



<p>Releases trauma, hurt, and sadness and promotes peace. It&#8217;s associated with the bladder.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Side of Eye (<em>not</em> your temple)</h3>



<p>Releases resentment and anger and promotes clarity and compassion. It&#8217;s related to our gallbladder.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Under Eye</h3>



<p>Releases fear and anxiety and promotes feelings of safety. It&#8217;s connected to our stomach.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Under Nose</strong></h3>



<p>Releases shame and powerlessness and promotes self-acceptance and self-empowerment. This one is associated to our governing vessel, a main energy channel that runs up the back of the body, from the crown to the root chakra. It focuses more on your Qi and Yang energy.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Under Mouth</strong></h3>



<p>Releases confusion and uncertainty and promotes clarity and confidence. It&#8217;s related to our central meridian, another main energy channel in traditional Chinese medicine. It goes up the front of the body&#8217;s center from the crown to the root chakra. It focuses more on organ function and Yin energy.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Collarbone</strong></h3>



<p>Releases the feeling of being stuck and promotes ease in moving forward. This one is connected to the kidneys.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Under Arm</strong></h3>



<p>Releases guilt, worry, and obsessing and promotes clarity, confidence, relaxation, and compassion. It&#8217;s associated with the spleen.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Top of Head</strong></h3>



<p>Opens the crown chakra and promotes spiritual connection, while anchoring in the alignment from the tapping round that has just been completed. It&#8217;s connected to multiple meridian points, since the crown chakra is a central point in the body&#8217;s energy.</p>



<p><strong>This sequence is almost always the same;</strong> starting with the karate chop, going from the head down, then finishing it off back on the crown. You don’t need a lot of pressure when you tap; don’t bruise yourself. Use 2 to 4 fingers depending on the size of the area. It also doesn’t matter which side you tap on. You can even tap on both if you want. As always, do whatever feels right to you.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>EFT Scripts</strong></h2>



<p>EFT tapping can be done without scripts or affirmations: simply focus on the negative emotion you’re feeling and tap the sequence. As you progress, the negative should lessen. Another option is to tap while saying affirmations. Whether you script it ahead of time or improvise them on the spot, I&#8217;ve found that affirmations help me not only release what&#8217;s been troubling me, but also discover how I&#8217;m truly feeling.</p>



<p>The goal of EFT tapping is to help you release a trauma, fear, unwanted emotion (stress or anxiety), or a limiting belief (one that’s stopping you from manifesting something or <a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/" type="link" id="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/">shifting</a>). With a simple google search (or <a href="https://ca.pinterest.com/emmamaeca/healing-yourself/eft-tapping/" type="link" id="https://ca.pinterest.com/emmamaeca/healing-yourself/eft-tapping/">Pinterest</a> search), you can find an EFT tapping script for virtually anything. Or, you can make your own. </p>



<p>Here&#8217;s my basic layout for an EFT tapping session with progressive affirmations:</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">EFT Tapping Script Layout</h3>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Identify the issue:</strong> Put a name to the emotion you’re feeling. You can look at emotion wheels if it’s a little hard to distinguish.</li>



<li><strong>Set up statement (KC):</strong> “Even though I feel _____, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.”</li>



<li>Tapping: 3 rounds of tapping, while saying/whispering affirmations out loud. You can have one affirmation per tapping point (9), or simply tap your sequence while saying any number of affirmations.
<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Round 1 &#8211; Acknowledge and feel the negative emotion:</strong> Release your negative feeling &#8211; let it all out. Going along each point, speak honestly and feel your negative emotion or belief 
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><em>Side note:</em> As a manifester I have a hard time with this step. It feels like I’m manifesting more negative energy. But, it’s important to acknowledge our feelings in order to move past them, instead of trying to ignore them.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>Round 2 &#8211; Begin to shift your perspective:</strong> Gently start to shift the negative feelings into positive outcomes (&#8220;What if it <em>does</em> work out,&#8221; &#8220;I’m still learning,&#8221; etc.). If you don’t believe what you’re saying at first, that’s okay. It’s part of the process. We’re building our way up.</li>



<li><strong>Round 3 &#8211; Replace the negative feelings with positive and empowering ones:</strong> Embody your ideal self who has already released these negative feelings. How do they feel? How do they speak to themselves? Do that.</li>
</ol>
</li>



<li><strong>Take a deep breath</strong> and feel the positive emotions. Be proud for showing up in this moment for yourself. You are taking steps toward healing, and you glow with love and light because of it.</li>
</ol>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Example Script: Self confidence</strong></h3>

<li>Issue: I have low self-confidence.</li>



<li><em>Even though I feel worthless, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.</em></li>



<li>Tap each point while saying affirmations aloud. Add more in the moment depending on how you feel.

<p>You’ll come across scripts that are shorter (one round) or longer (4 to 7 rounds). At the end of the day, do what feels right to you, and don’t be afraid to try new things.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Summary</h2>



<p>Like anything, this practice might not be a cure-all, especially on the first try. But, it’s an excellent self-regulation technique that will at least give some relief from overwhelming feelings. Give EFT a fighting chance, and you&#8217;ll feel lighter in no time.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>What is a Lucid Dream?</strong></h2>



<p>A lucid dream is a type of dream where you become aware that you are dreaming while in the <a href="https://emmamae.ca/sleep-stages-explained-brain-waves-and-the-sleep-cycle/">REM sleep stage</a>. During this conscious state, you can control the dream’s narrative, characters, or environment. It&#8217;s considered a hybrid state of consciousness, combining elements of REM sleep with waking awareness.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How to Become Lucid</strong></h2>



<p>Like shifting, it’s different for everyone! Find what works for you. Here are some techniques and practices that have proven useful in the lucid dreaming community:</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Dream Recall</strong></h3>



<p>Dream recall and journaling are <strong>SUPER</strong> important, because they help you remember the way a dream feels, which in turn helps you to realize you&#8217;re in a dream.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Keep a <strong>dream journal</strong>, whether it&#8217;s on your phone or on paper. Write down anything and everything, even just bits and pieces that don’t really make sense.</li>



<li>Before you fall asleep, <strong>set the intention</strong> to remember your dream, or use affirmations: “I am ready to remember my dreams.” or “I love remembering my dreams”.</li>



<li>Try to <strong>look for patterns</strong> in your dream. You might be able to find some signs that will prompt lucidity, especially if you have a reoccurring dream. In real life, remind yourself that if you recognize that dream, <em>you</em> <em>are</em> <em>dreaming</em>.</li>



<li><strong>Read</strong> through your dream journal every so often, and imagine yourself getting lucid in those dreams.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Reality Checks</strong></h3>



<p>Essentially, reality checks help prompt you to question if you&#8217;re in a dream, by &#8220;checking&#8221; throughout the day while your awake.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>There are lots of ways you can reality check; counting your fingers (make sure you have five on each hand), try to poke your finger through the palm of your hand (if it goes through, you’re dreaming), plug your nose and try to breathe (if you can still breathe, you’re dreaming).</li>



<li>You&#8217;ll become lucid because dreams work differently then your waking life. When you count your fingers during the day, you&#8217;ll count five. But, in a dream, you might count four or six, or maybe your hands won&#8217;t even look like hands. That&#8217;s when you become lucid.</li>



<li>The important part is repeating the action throughout the day and making it a habit. If it&#8217;s a habit, you&#8217;ll end up doing it in a dream and becoming lucid.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Wake Back to Sleep Method</h3>



<p><strong>A</strong> method to lucid dream where you set an alarm for around 3AM (the average time that most people are in REM stage of sleep), stay up for a bit to become conscious (you can count your fingers to remind yourself you’re not dreaming), then go back to bed. If it’s done correctly, you’ll return back to REM sleep (the sleep stage when you dream) while still a little conscious. Therefore, it’s easier for you to become lucid.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Stabilize your Dream</h3>



<p>I’ve found that when I become lucid, it’s not lucid enough to really control my dream. I feel rushed, like I’m going to lose control or wake up. So, here are some techniques to stabilize your lucid dream.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Some people use <strong>touch</strong>: touch something beside you, touch the floor, rub your hands together, yell, etc. Something to make it feel real and use your senses. Even just genuinely asking yourself if you’re dreaming this very moment can work.</li>



<li>Other people <strong>summon an object</strong> that’s easy to visualize. I’ve heard of people summoning a fruit, and even eating it. There are a number of ways you can summon it, just by saying it aloud or asking for it in your head &#8211; you control the dream, so do whatever feels right. You’ll know you’ve stabilized your lucid dream properly when the object you summon appears clearly and as you intended.</li>



<li>Remind yourself you have time. Don’t feel rushed. When you become lucid, your thoughts control your dream. If you feel rushed, the dream will become rushed.</li>



<li>Taking a moment to collect yourself and calm your excitement can make all the difference.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Lucid Dream Shifting Method</strong></h2>



<p>If you were to shift realities right now, what would be the easiest route? A door that opens? A portal? What reminds you of your DR? I like to imagine a door from my DR in front of me, my hand grabs the knob (if there is one!) and pushes it open, and I walk through.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Take the time to properly visualize the door, portal or whatever, and <strong>affirm</strong> (very important!) that it will take you to your DR. After you walk through, you’re in your DR! Don&#8217;t rush this process, because it won&#8217;t work (trust me).</li>



<li><strong>Side Note: </strong>You might end up lucid dreaming in your DR. To wake up in your DR, just find a spot and go to sleep, and you’ll end up waking up there. Try not to explore too much while you&#8217;re dreaming &#8211; you’ll get the chance to when you’re awake in your DR.</li>



<li>It will work differently for everyone, so just give it a try and <em>practice</em>.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Another Use for Lucid Dreaming</h2>



<p>In <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/shiftingrealities/comments/191pqtr/tips_for_shifting_through_lucid_dreaming/">this reddit post</a> (I used it a lot in my research!), the author talks about using lucid dreaming to talk to your subconscious as a way to get answers to your questions. The way your subconscious appears to you in your dream can tell you about how you feel. </p>



<p>For example, if you’re afraid you’re not good enough for shifting, your subconscious may appear to you as a frightening, pessimistic person. Your thoughts, feelings, and expectations control your dreams, so you can learn a lot about yourself in them. I highly recommend reading through the post by the way!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Summary</h2>



<p>Shifting can be a tricky skill to master. Lucid dreaming can be an easier way to shift, since it can be learned (usually) a lot faster. I&#8217;ve seen people lucid dream for the first time after just a week of practice! Even if you&#8217;re not into shifting realities, lucid dreaming has <em>so</em> many uses, so I highly recommend practicing this skill!</p>

<p>Have you ever looked at a beautiful full moon and felt like you could be doing more with her magick? Every time I see the full moon I want to appreciate it, and use her ethereal energy. Well, today I’m going to show you how to sync your shifting routine with the moon cycle.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Moon Cycle</h2>



<p>Scientifically, the moon (or lunar) cycle is about 29 and a half days. So, it takes the moon 29.5 days to journey around the Earth. During this journey, the reflection of the sun on the moon appears differently to us on Earth. The moon phases are these different reflections. </p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Side Notes:</h4>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Waxing</strong> means before the full moon, <strong>waning</strong> means after the full moon.</li>



<li><strong>Crescent</strong> means it’s less than half (crescent shape), <strong>gibbous</strong> means more than half (bulbous).</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Fun Facts about the Moon</h3>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>The moon rotates counterclockwise around the earth, like most planets in our solar system.</li>



<li>The moon can be in different zodiac signs.
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>We associate different vibes, emotions, and daily tasks depending on which of the zodiac signs the moon is in. It only stays in each sign for about 2 days.</li>



<li>There are actually 13 zodiacs around the Earth. The 13th is called <strong>Ophiuchus: The Serpent Bearer</strong>. When the Babylonians made the 12-month calendar, they chose to ignore it.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li>Each full moon also has a name attached to it, depending on the month (February is a snow moon).</li>



<li><strong>Supermoons</strong> occur when a full or new moon falls during the closest point in the moon&#8217;s orbit to Earth. The full moon can appear up to 14% bigger and 30% brighter. Supermoons generally appear three or four times a year, always consecutively.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>Spiritual Meaning of the Moon Cycle</strong></h2>



<p>Each phase of the lunar cycle has its own meaning. You can use the lunar cycle to manifest, achieve goals, or even <a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/" type="link" id="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/">shift realities</a> by following the spiritual practices during each phase.</p>



<p>Here is the basic meaning of each phase:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>New moon:</strong> Set intention, self-care.</li>



<li><strong>Waxing crescent:</strong> Planning, setting goals relevant to your intention.</li>



<li><strong>First quarter:</strong> Take action on your plan.</li>



<li><strong>Waxing gibbous:</strong> Adjust if needed, and keep moving with intention.</li>



<li><strong>Full moon:</strong> Fruition and manifestation, goals being achieved, heightened psychic abilities/intuition. It&#8217;s a good time for divine practices and celebrations. 
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><em><strong>NOTE:</strong> </em>The full moon has a peak time when it’s completely full, but your manifestation can come just as easily a day or so before or after the exact full moon. The energy is high for a few days.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>Waning gibbous:</strong> Appreciate, reflect on, and express gratitude for your blessings.</li>



<li><strong>Last (or third) quarter:</strong> Releasing what no longer serves you, to make room for new growth.</li>



<li><strong>Waning crescent:</strong> Slow down, forgive if needed, think about next steps.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>How to Shift Realities with the Moon Cycle</strong></h2>



<p>In my mind, here’s the best way to use the moon cycle to shift:</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>New Moon:</strong> Choose your DR. Relax and slowly consume media about your DR (read script, watch the show, read the book, etc.). No effort, just chilling and getting into the vibe.</li>



<li><strong>Waxing crescent:</strong> Review your shifting routine and/or method, or create one. Set your intention to shift to the DR you chose. Make it a goal if you want: “I will shift to <em>MHA</em> during the full moon on <em>February 1, 2026</em>.” Setting a date can help make it feel real, and keep you motivated and on task. </li>



<li><strong>First quarter:</strong> Start practicing your routine. If you need to visualize your DR, start practicing so it gets clearer. If you need to enter the void, start meditating. Try out different <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2B56UBvUFs&amp;t=116s" type="link" id="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2B56UBvUFs&amp;t=116s">guided meditations</a> and see what works best, or make your own.</li>



<li><strong>Waxing gibbous:</strong> Keep practicing and adjusting as needed. Also, keep reading/watching media about your DR (if that helps you &#8211; it does for me!).</li>



<li><strong>Full moon:</strong> Shifting time!! Do your routine and shift to your DR. Trust in yourself and your intention &#8211; we’re manifesting baby!!!</li>



<li><strong>Waning gibbous:</strong> Appreciate and reflect on your progress, your shifts, and all your blessings. If you shifted, fantastic! Appreciate this wonderful ability that we all have. If it didn’t work this time, that’s okay! Appreciate this wonderful ability that we all have. We can visit other realities. What a dream come true!!</li>



<li><strong>Last quarter:</strong> Release what no longer serves your shifting journey. Old habits (2020 shifttok, hey!), negative thought patterns, and biases. You can cleanse yourself, journal, or follow a guided meditation to release negativity.</li>



<li><strong>Waning crescent:</strong> Slow down and do some self-care. Do whatever you need to do in order to recharge your batteries and reset.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Summary</h2>



<p>The moon is a great source of power, especially for magickal practices like shifting and manifesting. Why not live with the moon and bask in her glory? She believes in you, and so do I!</p>



<p>To know what phase the moon is in, either look outside, or search it up. Remember that the dates may vary depending on where you live because of time changes.</p>

<p>Recently, I&#8217;ve been playing around with manifesting, really letting myself release my doubts and just see what happens. Well, I am proud to say it definitely paid off! </p>



<p>This post is my journal entry of my new manifesting techniques. I&#8217;m writing out all the details so I can replicate it, and work out the kinks. Plus, it can help others (like you!) who might be trying to figure out this manifesting thing for themselves.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Storytime</h2>



<p>In early December 2024, I <strong>spotted a kitten in my Grampa’s garage</strong>. I was met with big blue eyes staring up, before it scurried back into hiding. These were kittens raised in the garage, so they were not a fan of people.</p>



<p>A couple weeks went by, and I was planning on getting a live trap. I visited the garage a couple more times, and saw the kitten once more. I watched it as it saw me, got scared, and ran out of the garage. That wasn&#8217;t unusual for them; they left all the time. But, my Grampa later mentioned that he hadn’t seen &#8220;the brown and white kitten&#8221; in a couple days. <strong>Which turned into weeks</strong>.</p>



<p>That&#8217;s when the guilt started. My mind was spinning, blaming myself for scaring away the kitten I wanted. Sending it out into the 30 below canadian winter by itself. Around the end of January, I decided I was going to use my knowledge of manifesting to my advantage. </p>



<p>Here&#8217;s what I did.</p>

<p>When I&#8217;ve tried to manifest in the past, I usually had a hard time quieting the negative thoughts that come up. You know the ones that say &#8220;You can&#8217;t be serious?!&#8221; or &#8220;Be more realistic.&#8221; Those come from your conscious mind; always looking for logic to keep you safe, from disappointment or discomfort.</p>



<p>The trick that I discovered is to use logic against it. Your conscious mind can argue all it wants, all you need is to counter it with the <em>possibility</em>. For example, whenever I started thinking of all the reasons it was very unlikely I would ever see the kitten again, I would start thinking of all the circumstances of when <strong>people <em>do</em> find lost pets</strong>:</p>



<p><strong><em>Cats are smart; they know their way home, especially when there&#8217;s food. Cats are crafty; they know how to find shelter and keep warm. Who&#8217;s to say it&#8217;s not already on it&#8217;s way home? It could be hiding in the garage this very moment.</em></strong></p>



<p>You see what I mean? Your mind can say whatever it wants, but there&#8217;s always a flip side. The future is <em>unknown</em>. Anything is possible, including the outcome you desire.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">&#8220;Blissfully Naïve&#8221;</h3>



<p>Now that we know the future is unknown, we can creating our desired outcome. This is where it pays to have an overactive imagination. I&#8217;ve dubbed this manifesting technique being &#8220;blissfully naïve&#8221;, or &#8220;delulu&#8221;, as the cool kids say. Let me give you an example.</p>



<p>I searched &#8220;siamese ragdoll kitten&#8221; on Pinterest, which gave me images that looked like the kitten. When I found a picture that looked similar, I would save it in my &#8220;My Life&#8221; board. On top of that, I would look at it, like it was a living, breathing kitten, and pet its nose. Yep, I would pet its nose and get all giddy because it was so cute.</p>



<p>Don&#8217;t be fooled &#8211; it wasn&#8217;t easy letting myself do that unironically. But, when my mind said I was stupid, I&#8217;d say &#8220;Be quiet, let&#8217;s see what happens.&#8221;</p>



<p>Also, I had an affirmation that I&#8217;d read whenever I started to feel guilty for scaring the kitten away:</p>



<p><em><strong>I am lovingly petting my adorable blue-eyed siamese ragdoll kitten, Sammy, at Grampa’s house. He’s licking my face!!! AWEEEE MY HEART IS EXPLODING AHHHHH</strong></em></p>



<p>I put Sammy because I wanted a boy kitten. We&#8217;ll get into that later.</p>



<p>Notice how I did not hold back with the emotions in the affirmation. It&#8217;s how I would honestly react in that moment. And it&#8217;s how I <em>did</em> react in that moment when it happened. Crazy right?</p>



<p>The main idea is that even though I felt silly, I did these actions anyway. I let myself give in to these emotions as if I already had what I desired.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Leave Feeling Positive</h3>



<p>Before bed, what usually happened was I would think of the kitten, then my stomach would somersault and I would feel a wash of regret and guilt for putting the kitten in harm&#8217;s way. Then, I would immediately pull out my affirmation and pictures of similar kittens until I was left with a genuine smile and feeling grateful. Then, I quickly change my thoughts to another topic &#8211; shifting, a book, etc. I leave the thought of my manifestation on a positive note.</p>



<p>You should always have positive feelings associated with your desire. You can read all the affirmations you want, but if you don&#8217;t <em>feel</em> the joy associated with it, in my experience, it won&#8217;t manifest. Visualization and affirmations are just tools to help you feel what it&#8217;s like to already have what you want.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">&#8220;What&#8217;s Meant for Me is Mine&#8221;</h3>



<p>Understand that <strong>the universe has its own plans too</strong>. Like I mentioned earlier, I wanted a male cat, and that’s what I pictured when I was visualizing. But, Penelope is a female. When manifesting, the universe doesn’t always send you what you want, but it sends you something better.</p>



<p>I wanted a loving, loyal companion, and in my head it was a male cat. Boy cats tend to be more vocal and dog-like, which is what I wanted. Turns out, Penelope is <em>super</em> vocal, and she follows me everywhere. So, I still got what I wanted, just in a different way.</p>



<p>When I&#8217;m really feeling the doubts creeping in, I have a phrase that melts all my worries away.</p>



<p><strong><em>&#8220;What&#8217;s Meant for Me is Mine&#8221;</em></strong></p>



<p>It let&#8217;s me sit back and leave it in the hands of fate, the universe, whatever, and just trust that everything happens for a reason. When I feel like I might not get exactly what I want, I surrender to destiny. It lets me calm down and be at peace, knowing that the universe has a divine plan for me.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Basic Manifesting Tips</h2>



<p>On top of the new-to-me techniques I mentioned above, I also practiced these basic steps. </p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Have a Clear Vision</h3>



<p>Have a <strong>clear vision</strong> of what you want. Be specific. I knew I didn’t just want any blue-eyed kitten; I wanted the one from my Grampa’s house, for the sake of rescuing a barn cat. </p>



<p>It&#8217;s also important to specify <em>why</em> you want what you want, to help you visualize with emotions. For example, if you want money, you can visualize your new lifestyle. Working less, spending more quality time with family, giving back to charities. Don&#8217;t visualize the cash, but the fun times that are a result of it.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Imagine Specific Scenarios</h3>



<p>Think of<strong> scenarios that will happen</strong> when you get your desire. I pictured the kitten kissing my face. Funny thing is now I regret that, because Penelope is literally always trying to lick my face when I sleep. </p>



<p>Just imagine a short moment from your ideal future, and repeat it with more and more detail until you feel the emotions that go with it.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Take Action</h3>



<p>This might be the scariest part of manifesting, but (in my case) it&#8217;s the part that matters most. Once you truly believe that your desire is yours, the only thing left to do is take it. Be so confident that you take action to achieve it. </p>



<p>With the kitten, I went over to my Grampa&#8217;s neighbour&#8217;s house. It was way out of my comfort zone, and it definitely wasn&#8217;t smooth sailing. But, the very next day is when they found the kitten and gave it to me. Turns out, Penelope had been living in <em>their</em> barn the past couple months. That&#8217;s right &#8211; it took <em>months</em> before I had actual proof that Penelope was even alive. I brought her home March 2, 2025. Which brings me to my next point.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Nevermind the How &amp; When</h3>



<p>T<strong>he universe has no concept of time.</strong> That&#8217;s what makes visualizing with feelings so effective; the universe thinks you already have it, and so you<em> do</em>. It doesn&#8217;t matter when or how you get it, as long as you have what you desire. </p>



<p>So don’t expect things to come on specific dates. Let it be and be patient. I had no idea when I would get the kitten, so I just kept at it. My emotions haven&#8217;t changed &#8211; since January, I&#8217;ve felt like I had a cute little ragdoll kitten, whether it was physically in front of me or on a screen.</p>



<p>The same goes for how you get your desires. When you write an affirmation or visualize a scene, focus on the core of what you want. I wanted a cuddly kitten to love and take in the van on adventures, so that&#8217;s what I visualized. I didn&#8217;t visualize catching the kitten, because that implies that I don&#8217;t have it yet. Focus on the end result, and the emotions that go with it.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Accept Your Desire</h3>



<p>Finally, manifesting is a little like <strong><em>accepting</em></strong> your desires. You can say affirmations and visualize, but these are just tools meant to help you <em>feel</em> (or <em>accept</em>!) like you have these things &#8211; that&#8217;s the key. Usually, I can feel a shift in my body for a couple minutes. And for that moment, I truly know that I have what I want. It may come and go, but if you feel that feeling as often as you can, you’re sure to make your goal a reality. That&#8217;s how it worked for me!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">You Can Manifest <em>Anything</em></h2>



<p>I just want to be clear: I definitely had doubts. I wrote a whole letter about how I killed the kitten by scaring it off into the bitter cold. Probably starving, probably dead in the snowy ditch. It was horrible, the scenes playing over and over again in my mind. So if I can still, after all the terrible gut-wrenching thoughts, manifest the kitten into my life, than you can manifest anything into yours too.</p>



<p>On top of that, little fourteen-year-old Emma once dreamed of riding dragons with Hiccup. Little did she know, a couple years of daydreaming later, I discovered <a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/">reality shifting</a>. You can quite literally do <em>anything</em>.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Conclusion</h2>



<p>That&#8217;s about everything I’ve learned so far. Manifesting is one of those things I only half-believe until it happens again. And it feels crazy every time it happens.</p>

<p>Another day, another way to manifest your dreams. Quantum jumping is fun, because you get to live your desires in another reality in order to manifest them. That&#8217;s right! As soon as you visualize in the first person, you&#8217;re seeing an alternate reality. There are an infinite amount of them &#8211; that&#8217;s why you can manifest <em>anything</em>. Let&#8217;s get into how you can manifest with this fun method of travel too.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is Quantum Jumping?</h2>



<p><strong>Quantum jumping</strong> is a form of manifestation where you shift your reality to one where your dreams have already come true. It’s similar to <a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">reality shifting</a> (if not the same thing), except it’s a less drastic change.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Burt Goldman Quantum Jumping</h3>



<p>There is no solid definition of quantum jumping; different methods work for different people. Take <strong>Burt Goldman</strong>, an author who explains quantum jumping in <a href="https://amzn.to/3QSTdZp" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">his book</a>. He described it as meeting alternate reality versions of yourself who have already accomplished your goals, learning from them, then coming back to your original reality with the skills and knowledge you need to achieve those goals, much quicker than you would have before. His definition implies that we meet with the successful versions of ourselves, instead of becoming them. Either way, we all get what we want: Our dream life.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Quantum Jump</h2>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Define Your Destination</h3>



<p>What do you want to experience? In other words, what do you want to manifest? It can be to clear up your acne, have a loving partner, get your dream job&#8230; <em>Whatever</em> you want to come true in your life. Be specific &#8211; simplify your goal down to the core of what you want. What I mean is, maybe you don&#8217;t want to win the lottery, you just want money to travel. Well, <em>travelling</em> is the goal.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Enter a Meditative State</h3>



<p>As with all things manifestation, you need to relax your mind. Meditation, counting backwards, or just laying down can all work; You just need to be in a drowsy, <a href="https://emmamae.ca/hypnagogia-the-natural-manifestation-state-of-mind/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hypnagogic state</a>. For beginners, I recommend concentrating on your breath. You can count as you inhale and exhale as well, to keep you extra focused.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Visualize</h3>



<p>Visualize yourself in that experience &#8211; <em>live</em> it in the first person. Use all your senses, along with your emotions. How do you feel when you&#8217;ve accomplished your goal? Your emotions are a strong tool and using them makes a substantial difference. Make it feel so real that it feels like you&#8217;ve become that version of yourself.</p>



<p>If you want to quantum jump as in manifest, then go to the next step. But, if you want to quantum jump as in shift realities, then keep visualizing that experience, as detailed as you can, until you either fall asleep, or feel your surroundings change. When you open your eyes, you can experience that reality first-hand!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Let Go</h3>



<p>Trust that the universe will align everything for you, and that your dreams are already yours. Really, they are &#8211; the universe isn&#8217;t bound by time as we are, so all your dreams have already come true, you just can&#8217;t see them yet.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Tips for Manifesting with Quantum Jumping</h2>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Be Patient: </strong>It can take time to master visualization in a drowsy state, so keep practicing. Manifesting in itself also has no defined path &#8211; sit back and let the pieces fall into place.</li>



<li><strong>Maintain That Mindset:</strong> Once you&#8217;ve committed to achieving your goals, it&#8217;s time to refine your mindset. After you&#8217;ve quantum jumped, keep up that mindset that you <em>already </em>have your desires. Try to replace negative, doubting thoughts with more positive ones.</li>



<li><strong>Take Action:</strong> Take action toward living your dream life. How would you act if you already had achieved your goal? If you want a loving partner, love yourself. Have a self-care night, or make your favourite meal as a treat. Live as if you already have your desire (you technically already do).</li>
</ol>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Summary</h2>



<p>Now you have discovered a thrilling way to manifest your goals. If I&#8217;m being honest, living them in another reality is a little more exciting than a vision board (I&#8217;m still keeping my vision boards though!). The best advice I can give you is to keep practicing. Like reality shifting, it takes time, along with trial and error, to be successful. On the plus side, with quantum jumping, you don&#8217;t really have to go all the way to that reality. By visualizing yourself living your dreams in the first person, you are already on your way to manifesting it. So sit back, relax, and let the universe do its thing.</p>

<p>When I was young, I wished there was a way I could fly. I remember staring out of the bus, imagining Toothless and Hiccup were following beside me in the air. In fact, I wanted to fly with them so badly, that I think I manifesting reality shifting for myself. What are the odds that I discover the key to unlocking the impossible? All those days of scolding myself for wanting something that I couldn’t have, and it fell into my hands back in December 2020. I knew I had to shift realities.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is Reality Shifting?</h2>



<p>Popularized on TikTok back in the peak of the pandemic, reality shifting is a practice where you get to experience a different reality of your choice. It&#8217;s described as becoming aware of your existence in another reality, where everything feels as real as it does right now. Some people stay in this reality for a few days, others for months or years. Time passes differently, so you can spend months in your desired reality in one night&#8217;s sleep here.</p>



<p>When you research reality shifting, you might notice that two descriptions come up. Let&#8217;s clarify that really quick before we proceed.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Shifting to a Desired Reality (Travelling)</h3>



<p>This is the trending version of reality shifting. You experience a totally a new world of your choice (hogwarts, MHA, MCU, etc.). You’ll definitely know when you’ve done it successfully.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Shifting Your Current Reality (Manifesting)</h3>



<p>A form of manifestation &#8211; shifting to a reality where you achieve your desires. It’s not as obvious of a transition, because you likely won&#8217;t see the results instantly. I believe that most people refer to this as <a href="https://emmamae.ca/quantum-jumping-explained-how-to-burt-goldman/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Quantum Jumping</a>.</p>

Either way, any method can be done both awake and asleep. You seeing a trend here? <em>Everything is up to you.</em></p>

I usually write fun DR scenarios in my script for motivation, along with some extra details like an infinite closet or never having to shave. Anything can happen in your DR, so don&#8217;t hold back!</p>

<p>Shifting symptoms sometimes happen while you’re shifting or doing a method. It’s really whatever odd sensations occur while you’re shifting. For me, I get tingles all over my body, then I feel like I’m zooming really fast. Don&#8217;t get discouraged if you don&#8217;t feel anything out of the ordinary &#8211; some people don’t get any symptoms at all.</p>

<p>A clone is you in your CR while your in your DR. There’s no need to worry; it’s not a zombie version of you. There’s an infinite amount of “you”s in the universe, and they all have a subconscious that makes them you. While your conscious mind explores another reality, your subconscious keeps your clone acting how you normally act. Most people shift at night anyway, so your clone will just sleep.</p>

<p>Many shifters struggle with getting past the symptoms of shifting to make the <em>final push</em> to their DR &#8211; to actually wake up in their DR and experience more than just symptoms. Many people have different methods for a successful final push. Some shifters don’t need a final push. It’s all about what? Say it with me: <em>What works best for you</em>. That’s right!</p>

<p>When I say visualization, I’m referring to using <em>all</em> your senses to vividly imagine your DR. Most people focus on just one &#8211; usually what you can see. Visualizing also means feeling the emotions of the moment too. I’d argue that’s the most important part. Many people with aphantasia (the inability to picture things in your mind) have shifted successfully by focusing on their other senses and emotions.</p>

<p>Shifters like to script a safe word for their DR &#8211; aka, a word that will send them back to their CR. No, you can&#8217;t get stuck in your DR. It&#8217;s literally impossible, because everything works according to your intention. If you intend to go back to your CR, you probably won&#8217;t even need to say your safe word. It&#8217;s just a backup to help you focus on returning to your CR.</p>

<p>An exercise to reset your mindset around shifting. Basically, you train your subconscious mind to think of shifting as an everyday activity and less of a monumental achievement. Making it a normal part of your life helps you relax and be open to it. <p>Okay, now let&#8217;s get to the fun stuff.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Shift Realities</h2>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Choose a Destination</h3>



<p><strong>Where do you want to go?</strong> A popular choice is to experience your favourite movie or TV show, but you can choose any place that you can imagine. It can be totally from your imagination, or identical to a book, movie, etc. It can even be from a cartoon &#8211; anime is a very popular destination. An anime DR can be cartoony or realistic; It’s all up to you.</p>



<p>With the place comes people &#8211; <strong>Who do you want in your DR?</strong> If you want to visit a movie, then you probably want the characters to be there too. The best part, if one of them is really annoying in the movie, then you can choose to erase them from your DR. <strong>This is your world, so you can replace, date, or befriend anyone.</strong></p>



<p>Your DR can get pretty detailed, so that’s why most people <strong>write a script to keep their thoughts organized.</strong> But don’t worry about knowing every detail. Your subconscious mind knows what you want and will manifest it in your DR for you.</p>



<p><strong>Fun little side note:</strong> I remember when shifting first emerged on TikTok, it was all about shifting to Hogwarts. So much so, that some people thought reality shifting was for Hogwarts alone. Turns out, they were very wrong.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Choose a Method</h3>



<p>This is probably the most overwhelming part of shifting for beginners. When you search shifting methods, you’re bombarded with dozens of videos about all sorts of methods. I’m going to simplify things for you.</p>



<p>All methods have the same basic structure:</p>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Get into a relaxed state:</strong> This can be done by following breathing exercises, counting to 100, relaxing your body, etc.</li>



<li><strong>Focus on your DR:</strong> Use your 5 senses, answer DR-related questions, interact with your SO, set the intention to shift, etc.</li>



<li><strong>Let go:</strong> Go to sleep or open your eyes in your DR.</li>
</ol>



<p>If you’re into manifesting, then you’ve probably noticed it’s the same steps to <a href="https://emmamae.ca/sats-manifesting-guide-to-manifest-while-you-sleep/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">manifest with SATS</a> by Neville Goddard. I strongly believe that one of the easiest and most consistent methods to shift is the SATS method (as I like to call it), so I’ll explain that here.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">SATS Shifting Method</h3>



<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Find a short action that implies you&#8217;ve shifted to your DR.</strong> It can be anything; hugging your SO, getting coffee with your friends, casting a spell&#8230; The main thing is it has to be something that you know you will experience in your DR. Really get into the details of the scene so it&#8217;s easier to visualize.</li>



<li><strong>Enter a state akin to sleep (SATS).</strong> This is when guided meditations on YouTube tell you to focus on your breath and relax your body. A <a href="https://emmamae.ca/sats-manifesting-guide-to-manifest-while-you-sleep/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">state akin to sleep</a> is a drowsy, meditative state; that state just before you fall completely asleep. It&#8217;s easy to visualize and control your thoughts (with some practice). Most shifters refer to this state as the void state, and there are lots of guided meditations specifically made to induce it (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAsMayRnMAE" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this one</a> is my favourite!).</li>



<li><strong>Visualize, with all the details of reality, your chosen short action.</strong> Keep repeating it until it truly feels like you are experiencing it in that moment. Keep visualizing until you feel your surroundings change, or until you fall asleep. When you open your eyes, you&#8217;ll find yourself in a new reality!</li>
</ol>



<p>Although the steps themselves are simple, it doesn&#8217;t mean it&#8217;s easy to get there. Shifting is notoriously frustrating, because it feels like you&#8217;re doing all the steps right, and it still doesn&#8217;t work. The only advice I can give you is to let go. Try to stay open to anything, and don&#8217;t worry about if you&#8217;ll ever make it &#8211; you will, just keep going. You only fail when you stop trying.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Need Motivation to Shift? I got you.</h2>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Script Out Your DR:</strong> Scripting scenes from your DR is a super fun way to feel connected to your loved ones in another reality.</li>



<li><strong>Choose Where You Awaken:</strong> Figure out when and where you first wake up in your DR. It&#8217;s a great scene to visualize, so use all your five senses. The more familiar you are, the easier it is to shift there (for me anyway). I like to go to bed thinking about what I&#8217;ll be doing when I wake up (like a to-do list in my DR).</li>



<li><strong>Listen to Music:</strong> I&#8217;ve had the most success with shifting after having a mini dance party with myself, listening to music that reminds me of my DR. It&#8217;s super fun, motivating, and helps you feel like you&#8217;re in your DR, dancing with your friends.</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Some Helpful Tips</h2>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Don’t pay attention to how long it takes you to shift.</strong> It takes years for some people to shift for the first time (like yours truly!). It’s the same as manifesting: What you want is already on its way to you. We don’t know exactly when, but if you believe it will happen, then it will.</li>



<li><strong>You&#8217;re in control of your actions.</strong> There are no higher forces stopping you from shifting. Your guides are definitely by your side helping you along, but it&#8217;s <em>your</em> intention that will get you to your DR.</li>



<li><strong>At any point during or after your method, you can shift.</strong> Once you start your method, you&#8217;re on your way to your DR! If it doesn&#8217;t work the first time, keep practicing. The more times to visualize your DR, the more detailed it becomes, and the more real it is. There is no time wasted in &#8220;failures&#8221; &#8211; it&#8217;s all experience.</li>



<li><strong>Try napping</strong>. If you fall asleep too quick or just roll over and sleep, try waking up early, doing something (quick work, clean up your room, etc.), then taking a nap somewhere other than your bed. I’ve been the most successful by far when I’ve napped on my couch. For some reason, no matter how excited I am to shift, once I get in bed my only priority is to get some sleep. Plus, naps are a simple way to enter the that mind awake, body asleep state (the state when people &#8211; like me &#8211; get intense shifting symptoms, and your thoughts manifest instantly).</li>



<li><strong>Listen to subliminals before or during your method.</strong> Subliminals (like <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2B56UBvUFs">this one</a>) are audios with affirmations playing in the background of music or ambiance noises. Your conscious mind can&#8217;t hear the affirmations, but your subconscious can. It&#8217;s great if you struggle with negative thoughts and doubt when you say affirmations aloud.</li>



<li><strong>Try other methods, or make your own.</strong> Experimenting can feel like a fresh start and helps you find what works best. Though I recommend sticking to one method longer than a couple attempts to give yourself a chance to practice with it. A shifting routine can also be included in your method; like having a hot shower or tea to help you wind down and quiet your mind.</li>
</ul>

<p>You&#8217;ve probably heard about manifesting on social media; journaling, vision boards, all that stuff? While those are good ways to achieve your desire (I love me a good vision board), there are less mainstream ways too. SATS manifesting, in particular, is a simple method to manifest your desire. The best part, is you get to fall asleep in the process. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is SATS?</h2>



<p>In Neville Goddard&#8217;s teachings, a <em>state akin to sleep</em> (SATS) is “a drowsy state, but one in which you are able to control your thoughts; a state in which you are attentive without effort.” It&#8217;s a classic mind awake, body asleep state that is used for manifestation, spiritual travel (<a href="https://emmamae.ca/how-to-astral-project-for-beginners/">astral projection</a> and reality shifting), or just deep meditation. Scientifically, it&#8217;s called <a href="https://emmamae.ca/how-to-astral-project-for-beginners/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hypnagogia</a>.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Neville Goddard</h3>



<p>He is a spiritual teacher who has <a href="https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=neville+goddard+books&amp;crid=3PPH0JAGX0GAF&amp;sprefix=neville+goddard+bo%2Caps%2C168&amp;linkCode=ll2&amp;tag=emmamae0b5-20&amp;linkId=0a8700760786b968bcd61a29e01905f4&amp;language=en_CA&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">countless books</a> about manifestation, spiritual travel, and self-mastery. His teachings can be applied to all areas of life. Born in 1905, he published his books throughout the 40s and 50s, and they are making a comeback in the 21st century. Despite the biblical comparisons in his lessons, his messages are universal &#8211; you don’t have to be religious to understand and use his methods.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SATS Method &#8211; How to Manifest with SATS</h2>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Choose Your Objective</h3>



<p><strong>What do you want to manifest?</strong> Think about your goals and what really matters to you. Be specific: boil down your desire to its simplest form. You don’t want money, you want the safety and freedom of financial wealth. You don’t want to date that person, you want comfort and to feel loved. Big or small, you can choose to manifest anything that you can imagine (it&#8217;s wild!).</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Find an Imaginary Action</h3>



<p><strong>Choose an imaginary action that implies the fulfillment of your desire.</strong> Something short, like shaking hands after being promoted. Focus on the <em>emotions</em> of the moment. You&#8217;re not just shaking hands, you&#8217;re feeling proud and excited to start your new position.</p>



<p>Don’t stress about choosing the perfect scene, we aren’t necessarily peeking into the future. We’re embodying the state where your desire is true. That doesn’t mean your action will play out exactly how you see it &#8211; in my experience, things always happen unexpectedly. The important part is your desire is fulfilled.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Enter a State Akin to Sleep</h3>



<p>SATS manifesting wouldn&#8217;t be complete without a state akin to sleep. Find a spot with minimal distractions to start. You can sit or lay down, whatever is best for you. Sitting is good for me because I usually fall asleep too quickly when I&#8217;m lying down.</p>



<p>Next, close your eyes and look into the darkness behind your eyes, <em>through</em> your eyelids. Alternatively, you can look <em>through</em> a blank wall, ceiling, or object to help you stay focused when your mind starts to wander.</p>



<p>Use breathing techniques to relax and slow down. You can count each inhale or exhale until you reach 100 (in 1, out 2, in 3, out 4), or just be mindful of your breath. The main thing is to keep your attention away from your day by focusing on the breath, making you drowsy.</p>



<p>You&#8217;ll know you&#8217;ve reach a state akin to sleep when it takes minimal effort to control your thoughts. Remember, it&#8217;s &#8220;a drowsy state in which you are attentive without effort.&#8221; Can&#8217;t be more spot on than Neville himself. Don&#8217;t worry too much about knowing exactly when you&#8217;ve reached this state; as long as you&#8217;re in a meditative state, you can start to visualize your scene. As you become sleepier, you&#8217;ll inevitably pass through a SATS (it&#8217;s a natural transitional state in sleep called <a href="https://emmamae.ca/hypnagogia-the-natural-manifestation-state-of-mind/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hypnagogia</a>) &#8211; so just keep visualizing if you&#8217;re not sure.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Visualize Your Imaginary Action</h3>



<p><strong>Visualize your desired scene <em>in the first person</em>.</strong> Keep reliving the moment with as much detail as possible until it feels like you are truly there. Practice visualizing with all five senses and <em>emotions</em>. If you&#8217;re getting that promotion handshake, you probably hear others congratulating you. You might feel excited to start the new position, and proud of yourself for the accomplishment. You can <em>feel</em> the smile beaming on your face.</p>



<p>I&#8217;ll say it again: it&#8217;s vital you visualize the action in the first person. “The difference between <em>feeling</em> yourself in action, here and now, and visualizing yourself in action, as though you were on a motion picture screen, is the difference between success and failure.” There you have it! If you struggle with seeing through your eyes in your imagination, practice with easier things. For example, visualize yourself walking through your front door. You do it everyday, so it&#8217;s easier to picture in your mind. Practice makes perfect!</p>



<p>One last very important note: <strong>It’s crucial to believe that this isn’t just visualizing, it’s <em>real</em>.</strong> You’re using your imaginal senses to go to that place and perform that action. In the 4D, there is no definition of time &#8211; your life is presented as a whole, from birth to death. The 4D doesn’t dwell on <em>when</em> it happens, but that it <em>does</em> happen. Your senses in the 3D reality just can’t detect it yet. What I&#8217;m saying is, the experience in your imagination is very much real, your 3D body just has a hard time trusting something other than the five senses it uses to perceive reality.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5. Sit Back &amp; Relax</h3>



<p><strong>Trust that your desire is yours.</strong> Don’t worry about the when or how &#8211; it’s all being figured out for you. Once you believe that your manifestation is your reality, your future shifts to meet it. Your 4D self does everything to align you with your desire.</p>



<p>Neville compares it to planting a seed. You can&#8217;t see the seed germinate, or the roots digging into the ground. You just trust that the seedling will sprout on its own time. You&#8217;re not exactly sure when, but you know it&#8217;s happening.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Notes + Tips</h2>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li><strong>Live Your Desire:</strong> During the day, keep your thoughts and feelings in line with your desire. If you want a promotion, don&#8217;t go complain about your current job to your friends &#8211; keep your mind aligned with the desired outcome (because you <em>already have it</em>).</li>



<li><strong>Seriously, Anything:</strong> You can manifest <em>anything</em> with this method &#8211; to ace that test, get a loving partner, or even <a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/">shift r</a><a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">e</a><a href="https://emmamae.ca/ultimate-reality-shifting-guide-from-a-shifter/">alities</a>.</li>



<li><strong>Leave Mistakes in the Past:</strong> Neville mentions that his method is the best way to alter your future. However, his many failed attempts would beg to differ &#8211; it’s important to keep your eyes forward, and let go of the past. Don’t dwell on how long it’s taking or if you didn’t reach a state akin to sleep.</li>



<li><strong>Baby Steps:</strong> If you&#8217;re doubting yourself, start off with simpler goals to practice and boost your confidence. I like to give myself symbols to look out for (something really random), and usually spot them within a day or two (but it&#8217;s different for everyone!).</li>



<li><strong>Ignore Timelines:</strong> Everyone is <em>so </em>different, with our own unique perspectives and hurdles. Don&#8217;t compare yourself to others, because they aren&#8217;t you. Everything that is meant for you <em>is already yours</em>, so don&#8217;t worry about when it will get here.</li>

<p><em>Visualize</em> isn&#8217;t always the best word to use for this situation. It implies you have to <em>see</em> your goal, which is true, but it&#8217;s only part of it. Visualizing encompasses all of your senses. If you have difficulty seeing your imaginary action, focus on the other senses. What do you hear, smell, taste, <em>feel</em>? What emotions are you feeling? Is your heart beating rapidly because of your excitement? It&#8217;s easy peasy.</p>

<p>Ever get woken up by a doorbell in your sleep? You&#8217;re not alone &#8211; it&#8217;s a hypnagogic hallucination. Just as your falling asleep, you&#8217;ve probably seen, heard, or felt things that weren&#8217;t really there. Most people don&#8217;t even remember these experiences, but they happen almost every night during a transitional state called hypnagogia. It&#8217;s part of your <a href="https://emmamae.ca/sleep-stages-explained-brain-waves-and-the-sleep-cycle/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">natural sleep cycle</a>, and happens to be the best time to manifest.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is Hypnagogia?</h2>



<p>Hypnagogia is the transitional state from wakefulness to sleep. It happens every night, even if you don&#8217;t remember it. Hypnagogia is the opposite of hypnopompia: the transitional state from sleeping to being awake.</p>



<p>Right before you completely fall asleep, your consciousness shows you images (aka hypnagogic hallucinations) as it begins to lose sense of the real world and enter the dream world. Any of your 5 senses can be influenced by hypnagogia, but the three most common ones are your sight, hearing, and touch/feeling.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Hypnagogic Hallucinations</h3>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Visual</h4>



<p>Visual hypnagogic hallucinations include flashing colours, shapes, and images. They are different from dreams because they usually don&#8217;t have a storyline. In my experience, I&#8217;ve seen balls of light appear before me, among other basic visual stimuli. Visual hypnagogic hallucinations are reportedly the most common.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Sensory</h4>



<p>Kinesthetic hypnagogic hallucinations are the ones you feel or sense. I just label them sensory to make it easier to remember. These are also pretty common. Some examples include feeling weightless or like your flying, muscle jerks, or &#8220;tingles&#8221; all over your body (I&#8217;ve experienced those a lot). People have even recalled sensing a presence in the room when there was no one there.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Auditory</h4>



<p>Auditory hypnagogic hallucinations are exactly what you think: things you can hear. Many people report hearing a doorbell in their sleep, or a phone ringing. For me, I experience auditory hypnagogic hallucinations the most frequently, despite them being the rarest of the three types. I once heard the sounds of a tropical forest, and even though my vision was black, it felt as though I was in the forest. The sounds surrounded me and felt extremely real &#8211; part of me thought I shifted to a jungle.</p>



<p><strong>Hey reality shifters, here&#8217;s a thought:</strong> Some people believe that shifting symptoms are just hypnagogic hallucinations. It makes sense, since your body is falling asleep. However, I have experienced <em>intense</em> sensations while shifting, similar to what people report feeling while separating from their body during astral projection. By that point, I was completely asleep, so could it have been a hypnagogic hallucination? Let me know what you think!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What are the Uses of Hypnagogia?</h2>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Manifestation</h3>



<p>The most obvious use for hypnagogia is manifestation, made popular by Neville Goddard&#8217;s teaching about the state akin to sleep (SATS). It&#8217;s much easier to visualize your desires when you are in this half-asleep state and your brain is less prone to negative beliefs. This is why most people talk about manifesting in bed before they fall asleep.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Lucid Dreaming</h3>



<p>If you can get passed the hypnagogic hallucinations, you&#8217;ll probably find yourself in a lucid dream. Instead of &#8220;waking up&#8221; in a dream, you&#8217;re going into a dreaming state already awake. Then  you&#8217;re free to do as you please in your lucid dream!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Reality Shifting</h3>



<p>If you can lucid dream with hypnagogia, then you can most definitely shift realities! You can induce a lucid dream, then make a portal. Or, you can do the shifting method of your choosing while you&#8217;re in the hypnagogic state. Either way, hypnagogia is a simple way to shift realities with some practice.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Spiked Creativity</h3>



<p>Thomas Edison famously used hypnagogia to come up with new ideas. He would sit in a chair, holding a metal ball. Just before he fell completely asleep, the ball would fall and wake him up, leaving him with a mind full of wild ideas to quickly jot down before he forgot about them. That’s the key &#8211; writing or recording your thoughts before they drift away like a dream.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Self-Discovery</h3>



<p>Many people believe that hypnagogic hallucinations are reflections of our subconscious mind, and try to find a deeper meaning in them. By writing down what you saw, heard, and felt as soon as you wake up, you can analyze your visions and decode the symbolism within them.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Induce Hypnagogia</h2>



<p>Although it happens every time you fall asleep, you usually aren’t aware that it’s happening. The key to inducing hypnagogia is to stay conscious while your body transitions from awake to asleep. Some people enter a hypnagogic state with the intention of sleeping through the night (for manifesting and lucid dreaming), while others choose to wake up right away to write down their experience. Choosing a goal can help you decide which method to use. I&#8217;ve added a few below to help get you started.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Blank Wall Method</h3>



<p>This is great for people who fall asleep quickly, because you keep your eyes open. Stare into a blank surface (a wall or ceiling work great) and relax your vision so you&#8217;re looking <em>through</em> the surface. Eventually, you&#8217;ll start to see shapes &#8211; hypnagogic hallucinations!</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Ball Drop Method</h3>



<p>Some of the greatest minds used this method to induce creative spikes, another effect of hypnagogia. Just keep an object in your hand, and hang your hand so when you fall asleep you’ll drop the object. The noise will wake you up so you can write down what you experienced.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Piano Method</h3>



<p>Move your fingers like you’re playing piano as you fall asleep. By focusing on the movement or song in your head, your brain stays active and you stay conscious. This is a common method for lucid dreaming and reality shifting too, since they also involve the <em>mind awake, body asleep</em> state of consciousness.</p>

<p>Ever hear of an out-of-body experience (OBE)? You&#8217;ve probably heard of injured people having a near-death experience and hovering over their body. Or, you&#8217;ve seen Dr. Strange force Spider-Man&#8217;s astral body out of his physical body. All of these are examples of <em>astral projection</em>. So, how do you astral project?</p>



<p>In your astral body, you&#8217;re free to fly anywhere at the speed of light. Everything manifests instantly, and you can talk to other entities in the astral realm. Sounds too good to be true? Plenty of people have been doing it for generations. Let&#8217;s get into how you can astral project too.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is Astral Projection?</h2>



<p>Basically, astral projection is an out-of-body experience. It&#8217;s an event where your astral body (sometimes referred to as your spirit, soul, or consciousness) separates from your physical body, and enters the astral plane. The astral plane is a realm of higher existence, where you can interact with other entities and travel anywhere you set your mind to. </p>



<p>There are multiple levels of reality, and the astral plane is said to be in the fourth dimension. The fourth dimension is the same as our reality, except time isn&#8217;t linear. It makes sense since you are not bound by time when you astral project. Some people say they can visit the past and the future, and it feels like time moves faster.</p>



<p>Think about it like this: Do you believe in life after death? That your soul will leave your physical body and travel to some other place &#8211; heaven, Valhalla, or some other realm? Astral projection is a similar experience (don&#8217;t worry, you&#8217;re not dying), except there is a silver string attaching you to your physical body. You are always attached to your body, and can come back to it anytime. The silver cord is infinite and unbreakable, so it doesn&#8217;t limit your travelling; it&#8217;s just keeps you tethered to home.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Scientific Research</h3>



<p>Astral projection is a skill that can be learned and practiced by anyone. In fact, there are numerous government research projects trying to understand astral travel so they can use it as a form of reconnaissance. Sounds freaky, but it proves that the science backs it up.</p>



<p>Take the famous CIA documents. They conclude that astral projection is very real, not that they call it that. The only reason the program ended was because they couldn&#8217;t use it for intelligence like they had planned. If it&#8217;s no good for spying, what&#8217;s the point? Notice the sarcasm.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">History</h3>



<p>In all parts of history and the world, there are similar accounts of astral travel and out-of-body experiences. It doesn&#8217;t matter what the underlying beliefs or religions are, they all speak of the soul leaving the body. Kind of wild, right?</p>

<p>Ancient Egyption traditions have many different aspects of a person. One of them is <em>ba</em>, best described as the personality. A part of the soul that could travel between the living world and the dead. It was often depicted as a bird with the head of a man hovering above the physical body.</p>

<p>Many indigenous peoples believe that their Holy people have the ability to communicate to the Higher Powers by travelling out of their body. <h4 class="wp-block-heading">Japanese Mythology</h4>



<p>If someone had a really intense grudge, their soul could manifest temporarily in front of the person they&#8217;re angry at to torment them. This resentful astral body was called an <em>Ikiryō</em>. It was distinctly separate from the souls of the dead, called <em>Shiryō</em>. <em>Ikiryō</em> could also manifest when a person was very sick, and therefore had no bad intentions.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Benefits of Astral Projection</h2>



<p>There are lots of benefits of astral travel, like meditation in general. Astral projection just takes things a step further and allows you to really connect on a deeper level. These are just some of the benefits of these experiences.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Release fears</h3>



<p>Have you ever been afraid of the obscurity of death? Not knowing if there&#8217;s anything after we pass on often gives people anxiety for the future. Astral travel teaches you about higher realms, giving you first hand experience in what it&#8217;s like after life on Earth. Many people agree that they feel a sense of peace after astral projecting, being comforted by what they saw.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Communicate with guides</h3>



<p>The astral plane is full of spiritual entities that you can interact with. Among these beings are your spirit guides, angels, and all that good stuff. You are free to ask them for guidance directly, which (to me) is super helpful and an unforgettable experience.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Enhance psychic abilities</h3>



<p>Similar to other forms of meditation, astral travel enhances your psychic abilities. Like anything, the more you practice astral projecting, the easier it becomes. You refine your meditation skills and learn more about yourself in the process. It&#8217;s a journey of self-discovery and of the higher realms.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Astral Project</h2>



<p>It&#8217;s a pretty common phenomenon in new-age spiritual practices, and there are a ton of resources out there to teach you how to astral project. The process is simple enough, but the steps themselves can be tricky at first. Like anything in life, it takes practice to be consistent.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Relaxation</h3>



<p>Like any spiritual travelling method, your body should be as relaxed as possible while your mind stays awake. Scientifically, this meditative state is called <a href="https://emmamae.ca/hypnagogia-the-natural-manifestation-state-of-mind/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hypnogogia</a>, and it&#8217;s the best state of consciousness for instant manifestation, lucid dreaming, and many other spiritual practices.</p>



<p>There are lots of ways to relax your body without completely falling asleep, so I&#8217;ll list a few here. The key is to keep your body still to trick it into sleep, while keeping your mind buzzing. Feel free to experiment and find what works best for you.</p>



<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>Count backwards from 100.</li>



<li>Tense and relax your body, from your forehead to your toes.</li>



<li>Repeat a mantra, like &#8220;body asleep, mind awake&#8221; in your head or aloud.</li>



<li>Lay down in an unusual position to keep yourself from quickly falling asleep.</li>



<li>Listen to a guided meditation or soft music.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Vibrations</h3>



<p>Most people who enter a deep hypnogogic state experience vibrations: it feels like your whole body is vibrating. This happens to me personally when I am in the body asleep, mind awake state, but it doesn&#8217;t happen for everyone. If you don&#8217;t have this symptom when attempting to astral project, don&#8217;t sweat it. No one&#8217;s experience is the same!</p>



<p><strong>If you do notice the vibrations</strong> (they are <em>very</em> hard to miss), try to enhance them. This can be a very intense feeling, but it&#8217;s the last big step before exiting your body.</p>



<p><strong>If you don&#8217;t feel any vibrations</strong> but believe you are in a deep meditative state, focus on visualization. Instead of using vibrations, use your intention and imagination to truly <em>feel</em> like you&#8217;ve left your body behind. If you&#8217;re in a hypnogogic state, it&#8217;s much easier to manifest; use this to your advantage.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Separation</h3>



<p>Once you feel you are ready (the vibrations are extremely intense), it&#8217;s time to separate from your physical body. Typically, a visualization method is used here, but you can also use affirmations, a mantra, or anything else you think will push your astral form out of your body &#8211; whatever works best for you. Have you caught the emphasis on <em>do what works best for you</em>? It&#8217;s very important when it comes to any sort of spiritual practice, notably astral projection, reality shifting, and manifestation.</p>



<p>To help you get started, I&#8217;ve listed a couple common methods for astral projection. All of these techniques assume you are laying down, and require some visualization skills.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">The rope method</h4>



<p>Imagine a rope hanging in front of you, within reach. Grab it with both astral hands and start climbing the rope, up and out of your physical body. Keep climbing higher until you feel you&#8217;ve completed exited your body.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">The roll over method</h4>



<p>Imagine your astral body rolling over, separating from your physical body. Keep turning over until you feel detached from your body.</p>



<h4 class="wp-block-heading">The displaced awareness method</h4>



<p>Imagine the room you are in; see in from your point of view. Slowly feel your awareness circle around to where your feet are, your point of view of the room rotating with you. Really <em>feel</em> your surroundings from your new viewing point. Your astral body is now in this position, with your head where your feet used to be. The idea is to make you forget where you really are. When you&#8217;re ready, try moving your astral body up and away from where you were laying.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Stabilization</h3>



<p>Like any spiritual travel, it can be really emotional when you arrive at your destination! So, it&#8217;s important you focus on grounding yourself in the astral to avoid getting overwhelmed and sucked back to your body.</p>



<p>Think about your goals for this experience. Where do you want to go? Who do you want to meet? Start your journey with the firm intention of doing <em>something</em>. This gives you a goal to focus on instead of becoming too scared or excited to be in the present moment.</p>



<p>Just like that, you&#8217;ve astral projected! Of course, I would be surprised if you did it on the first try (unless you&#8217;re a prodigy &#8211; congrats!). The lower levels vibrate at a lower frequency, which is where you&#8217;ll find negative beings that want to scare you. <em>They cannot harm you</em>, but seeing scary things isn&#8217;t fun. <p>We spend one third of our lives sleeping &#8211; that&#8217;s about 26 years! With all that time asleep, it&#8217;s a good idea to learn about how this strange cycle works. Understanding will help you improve your own sleep situation so you can feel rested and possibly have some fun with different states of consciousness.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What happens when we sleep?</h2>



<p>Did you know scientists aren’t exactly sure <em>why</em> we sleep? Some popular hypotheses conclude it’s to allow our mind to sort through unimportant information, to clear waste produced by neural activity, or just to let our neurons mature (lots of science stuff). The point is, we don’t know why we escape to a dreamland every night for hours. What we do know, is humans <em>need</em> sleep, and your brain will go through different sleep stages with their own unique energetic frequencies.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">5 Sleep Stages</h2>



<p><strong>Tip:</strong> The N1, N2, and N3 stages are Non-REM (NREM) sleep stages. That’s why they’re labeled with an N.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Wakefulness &#8211; Beta and Alpha waves</h3>



<p>Beta waves are present in your brain when you are completely awake, eyes open and ready for action. Alpha waves move in when you close your eyes and become a little drowsy. Like if you&#8217;re relaxing on the couch watching TV.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. N1 Light Sleep &#8211; Theta waves</h3>



<p>This is the lightest stage of sleep. It starts when more than half of the alpha waves (from the relaxed awake state) are replaced with theta waves. This stage is short; only lasting 1 to 5 minutes.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. N2 Deeper Sleep &#8211; Delta waves</h3>



<p>Now we&#8217;re getting into deeper sleep, so your heart rate and body temperature drop. Delta waves are introduced in the brain, along with sleep spindles (short, strong bursts of neurons firing in cells). Almost half of your total night&#8217;s sleep will be spent in the N2 stage. It lasts around 25 minutes in the first cycle, but gradually gets shorter as the night goes on.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. N3 Deepest Non-REM Sleep &#8211; Delta waves</h3>



<p>N3 is the deepest stage of NREM sleep, when delta waves take over the mind. This deep, dreamless sleep is the hardest to awaken from, and is also when you&#8217;re most likely to sleepwalk or experience night terrors.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5. REM Sleep &#8211; Beta waves</h3>



<p>REM stands for rapid eye movement &#8211; when you dream, all your muscles are &#8220;shut off&#8221; except for your eyes. This is the stage when you have vivid dreams or unpleasant nightmares. Unlike the other stages of sleep with slower brain activity, beta waves are present during REM sleep. The same waves as when you&#8217;re wide awake. It&#8217;s most likely because the sensations from your dreams are similar to when you&#8217;re up and about.</p>



<p>This stage usually starts 90 minutes after you fall asleep in the first place, with each REM stage increasing throughout the night. The first&nbsp;cycle usually lasts about 10 minutes, but the last&nbsp;cycle&nbsp;can last up to&nbsp;1 hour. Many lucid dreamers calculate when they&#8217;ll be in REM sleep, and set alarms accordingly, so they wake up with the possibility of lucid dreaming when they fall back asleep (ideally go straight into the REM stage).</p>

<p>In reality, you cycle through these stages of sleep multiple times each night. This is why you have more than one dream at night: you go through more than one REM stage. At first, you remain in the N2 stage the longest, with a short period of REM. Further in the night, you&#8217;ll spend less time in the N2 and N3 stages and more time in REM sleep.</p>



<p>For visual learners, check out the sleep cycle image below. Basically, you transition from being awake to a light sleep (N1), called <a href="https://emmamae.ca/hypnagogia-the-natural-manifestation-state-of-mind/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hypnagogia</a> &#8211; aka the best time to manifest. From then, you cycle through N2, N3, and REM sleep anywhere from 3 to 7 times a night. In the morning, you wake up by transitioning from N1 sleep to being fully awake, called hypnopompia. That&#8217;s the human body&#8217;s basic sleep cycle.</p>

<p>Sleep is crucial for basically every aspect of your physical and mental health. Lack of sleep has been attributed to increased anxiety and stress, difficulty concentrating, and even weight gain. Needless to say, mastering your sleep cycle is beneficial for your overall health. </p>



<p>For my spiritual people, understanding sleep stages can let you use it to your advantage. Many people practice manifesting during the hypnagogic state to make it easier to visualize their desired outcome. Hypnagogia is essentially a state of body asleep, mind awake &#8211; the ideal state of mind for spiritual travel and spiked creativity.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How do I have a good sleep?</h2>



<p>We&#8217;ve all heard to get 9 hours of sleep at night, but many of us still wake up feeling groggy. What&#8217;s the deal? Well, you need to consider all aspects of sleep.</p>



<p>Ideally, your sleep cycles should be similar each night (happen around the same time, be the same length). This can help you feel refreshed in the morning and awake throughout the day. Nothing is perfect, but going to bed and waking up at consistent times will regulate your circadian rhythm, keeping your sleep cycles the same every night.</p>



<p>To have consistent sleep stages, you should have healthy <em>sleep habits</em>: little things in your sleep routine that help you fall and stay asleep all night. Some examples include getting natural daylight exposure, avoiding alcohol or food before bedtime, and eliminating <a href="https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=eye+mask&amp;linkCode=ll2&amp;tag=emmamae02-20&amp;linkId=87473589944afb1ffaa62fdd8a76f1d2&amp;language=en_CA&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">noise</a> and <a href="https://amzn.to/44aZhSm" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">light</a> during the night.</p>
